"Training" is "the systematic acquisition of skills, rules, concepts, or attitudes that result in improved performance in another environment" (Goldstein & Ford, 2002,
p.1). "Development" can be understood as "activities leading to the acquisition of new knowledge or skills for purposes of personal growth" (Aguinis & Kraiger, 2009). In their review of the training literature from 2000, Aguinis and Kraiger (2009) use the term "training" to refer to both training and development. Related References Aguinis, H, Kraiger, K. (2009).
